Hevac has been at the forefront of new technologies and has been responsible for many new trends within the industry. With the growing demand for bespoke package plant rooms, Hevac saw a gap in the market for a professional and complete service to both specifier's and contractors in Ireland and the UK. Our in house design team can now offer the complete package to include, design, preparation of in-house CAD drawings, complete build and delivery within budget and programmed time schedule. Our offer includes bespoke units which can include boilers, burners, water heaters, calorifier’ s, gas & water boosters, shunt and primary pumps, control panels, etc.
One of our recent completed projects, included a build Package Plant Room ( PPR) complete with architectural composite panel pitched roof with gutters and downpipes. The brief from our client was to keep the hospital operating at peak efficiency throughout the project. With the Core facilities and heating systems also to remain fully operational throughout the project. After careful discussion with our design team it was decided that the supply of a PPR was the best solution for the St. Mary's. The offsite construction of the PPR could commence in tandem with the main construction work and remain unaffected by on-site influences such as weather, on site health and safety issues and unforeseen disruption’s. A construction site is far from ideal to construct and install a plant room and the benefits of undertaking work in a clean and dedicated factor environment invariably results in a better quality plant room.
PPR's generally benefit from a reduction in labour costs, less disruption from usual general construction and the elimination of possible damage by other trades, minimum downtime of plant productivity and a reduction in the cost of premium site space.
The agreed PPR specification for St. Mary's included the Base Frame build on galvanised U section construction of 150 x 75 mm channel with support framework, 40 x 40mm. The flooring was finished in 3mm checker plate, with outer panel in goose wing grey Kingspan Galfan panel, 45 mm Kingspan insulation and finished inner panel in Kingspan white Galfan. Internal lighting was supplied with florescent tubes complete with emergency lighting.
To match the required hospital load the PPR was fitted with 4 n. De Dietrich MCA 115gas fired boilers, giving a maximum out-put of 460 kW, fully modulating condensing boilers. The PPR also included Wilo circulators, Duomo Gas Detection with audible and flashing alarms, dosing posts and air dirt separators from Fabricated Products and range of controls including full boiler and weather compensation controlled by the De Dietrich iSystem master controller.
The entire project was completed, installed and commissioned within agreed schedule and budget.
Hevac’s reputation has always been one of strength in respect of the scope and diversity of our product portfolio and is also complimented by a work force representing vast experience, practical know how and technical excellence. The introduction of our package plant room allows us to offer the complete solution to the commercial and industrial market.
