Schwank
Over 80 years ago the founder of the Schwank Group, Gunther Schwank, invented the world’s first gas infrared plaque heater. Their focus of activities ever since has been to provide Innovative gas Heating Solutions – a fundamental requirement for the well-being of people. Ultimately, customers for Schwank gas heaters demand cost-efficient and reliable heating solutions backed up by professional advice and outstanding customer service.
Thanks to their exceptional experience, technologically advanced heating solution products and strict quality standards, Schwank are the largest supplier and worldwide market leader of infrared gas heaters for industrial buildings, outdoor applications and sports arenas. The fact that over two million Schwank heating appliances have been sold to satisfied customers in over 40 countries, including Ireland, speaks for itself. As can be seen from their reference database, customers for heating solutions range from very small businesses to internationally operating conglomerates. Infrared Schwank gas heaters have an exceptional reputation worldwide.
Rising energy costs affect the efficiency of every organisation. The economic and rational use of energy is a major priority. Fortunately, the savings potential from heaters is far from being exhausted. For the heating of buildings, Schwank offers exceptionally efficient infrared heating solutions.
Using Schwank infrared heaters offer many benefits:
The core of the plaque [high-intensity / luminous] infrared tube heater is the unique ceramic burner tile invented by the founder, Günther Schwank. The infrared heater’s energy is generated from a gas-air-mixture through clean combustion at 3,600 openings per tile. The ceramic heating tile’s surface will thereby be heated up to 950°C, glowing "brightly" and releasing infrared radiation. Reflectors deflect and direct the infrared radiation downwards, heating the occupied level up to the desired comfort temperature.
Schwank plaque [luminous] tube heaters are used for heating factories, warehouses, distribution centres, workshops, service garages, aviation hangars, sports facilities and churches. Furthermore, special infrared models are available for a range of heating applications from outdoor patios to football stadiums.
Schwank has developed plaque [luminous] heaters in 2 energy-efficiency classes:
Advantages of Schwank plaque [luminous] infrared heaters:
Schwank’s infrared gas heater tube range offers low intensity heat and exceptional energy efficiency. By generating radiant energy, these gas heaters work on the principle of the sun, the heat being created when it comes into contact with people and objects.
Low heat intensity makes Schwank gas heater tube systems particularly suitable for installation in low ceiling buildings. However, their excellent performance standards and system design flexibility mean that they can conform to a wide variety of building interior requirements. This flexibility is enhanced by the ability of radiant gas heaters to apply heating to selected zones, thus ensuring the most efficient use of energy and reducing operating costs.
Additionally, being suspended from the ceiling means that these gas heater tube systems maximise usable interior space, being at a level where they cause no obstruction to workplace activities. Comfortable working temperatures are produced where and when they are needed, with the gas heaters maintaining a discreet and unobtrusive presence.
The core of the Schwank gas fired infrared radiant tube heater is the innovative "Whisper-Jet" burner. This is the result of continuous technical advancement and a long standing experience of flame tube heating.
Schwank offers its infrared burner systems with positive pressure fans, allowing Schwank gas fired radiant tube heaters to create a very long laminar flame which reaches far into the heater tube. This leads to a more uniform transfer over the tubes and an immediate positive effect on the energy efficiency of the overall Schwank gas fired infrared radiant tube heater system.
The radiant gas heater tube is warmed up to 650°C and generates comfortable radiant heat. A further benefit lies in the fact that the burner’s pressure fan is not exposed to hot flue gases and therefore has much greater longevity than conventional radiant gas heaters.
Schwank provides gas fired radiant tube heaters for the UK market in two energy-efficient classes:
Advantages of Schwank ga fired infrared radiant tube heaters
Furthermore, Schwank gas heater tube systems can be used in a unique low-cost heat recovery method which has been found to achieve increases in heating output of up to 110%. This is possible by employing Schwank’s tetraSchwank heat recovery system, together with the Schwank ThermoControl Plus intelligent heating control system to exploit flue gas heat without using any intermediate heat storage capacity or medium.
This works in the following way:
This heat recovery method serves the dual purpose of further the reducing operating costs and environmental impact of radiant gas heater systems that are already highly energy efficient.
