Working alongside Buro Happold Consulting Engineers, Hevac Ltd supplied a combination of high efficiency Wessex Modumax modular boilers and condensing Warmwell boilers to the Ballyfermot Leisure Centre.
These boilers were chosen for their high thermal efficiencies, small footprints and robust construction.
The building comprises of a Main Leisure Centre housing the swimming pool hall, sports hall, changing village, multipurpose rooms and staff areas; a Youth Centre, Crèche, Performance space recording studio and ancillary offices.
The boilers had to serve a number of different systems around the building, including air handling units, hot water generators, radiant panel heating, underfloor heating and radiator circuits.
Because the loads, temperatures, and operating times varied so much, it was decided that rather than amalgamate all the boilers onto one continuous header arrangement, the boilers would be piped individually to each zone.
The M7E Contractors carried out the works on site and found that the installation of these units to be very easy and installer friendly.
As the Leisure Centre is a focal point within the Ballyfermot neighbourhood, it is imperative that trustworthy equipment be installed; the Hamworthy boilers fulfil these requirements.
